Our agency proudly bears the name Mandala Tours, a name that isn’t the result of chance, but encapsulates our philosophy and passion. The term ‘Mandala’, taken from Buddhism, symbolizes its mystical vision of the universe, a balance that reflects the natural harmony of the world and, ultimately, an invitation to inner peace. The name is a reflection of our belief in travel as a means for a spiritual journey inward, towards a better understanding of oneself.
Aware of the deep spirituality and meaning that our destinations bring, we understand that exploring other cultures and ways of life isn’t simply about knowing the ‘other’, but an opportunity to get to know ourselves on a deeper level. On each trip, in each encounter with diversity, we see our own humanity reflected, expanding our perception and enriching our understanding of the world.
We always approach these journeys with a spirit of unity, showing that, just as in a fractal, each of us is an integral part of a larger whole. In each traveler, in each culture, we see a reflection of this collective image, a beautiful expression of our shared essence.
It is no coincidence that Mandala Tours was born in Ceuta, a Spanish autonomous city located in North Africa and bordered by Moroccan territory. Its society, recognized as one of the most diverse and multicultural in all of Spain, has been the perfect melting pot to forge an agency with our values. Despite the distorted image that the media can sometimes convey, its society stands out for being open and free from prejudice.
Today, with great enthusiasm, we announce that Mandala Tours has expanded its horizons and established its new headquarters in Granada, another city that has a very special meaning for us. Granada, with its rich cultural heritage and its intertwined history of diverse cultures, is a vivid reflection of our ideals of exploration and intercultural understanding. Like Ceuta, Granada is a testament to the beauty of diversity and unity amidst differences. And in both cities, we will continue with our mission to break barriers, dismantle prejudices, and demonstrate that we are all, in essence, part of a larger whole.
Carlos Gallego, a native of Ceuta, is the founder of Mandala Tours. An entrepreneur and globetrotter, he sees travel not only as his passion but also as the backbone of his professional initiatives. Since his childhood, surrounded by Christian, Jewish, Hindu, and Muslim friends, he discovered a universal truth: above all else, children are simply children, and as human beings, we share more similarities than differences.
Based on this philosophy and as time went on, Carlos ventured to explore Morocco, always seizing the opportunity to learn and grow in the business world within a Spanish multinational. When the right opportunity presented itself, he created Turismo Marruecos, a company dedicated to organizing customized trips around the country. The warm reception from his travelers led to the creation of Mandala Tours, an umbrella under which the following projects could be developed organically: Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, among others. And although we don’t know where the future will take us, we are excited to continue our journey, eliminating barriers, breaking prejudices, and celebrating our fundamental human similarities. Now, with the expansion of our base to Granada, we hope to take these ideals to new heights.
Currently, the team that makes up Mandala Tours is extensive and varied, but they all share the same philosophy of travel and life. Without their commitment, proximity, and professionalism, our agency would not be possible or, at least, it wouldn’t be what Mandala Tours is today.
